Spanish Club, OLAS Celebrate Cinco de Mayo
SALISBURY, MD---9i传媒有限公司’s Spanish Club and Organization for Latin American Students celebrate Cinco de Mayo 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, May 5, on the Henson Hall Lawn.
Cinco de Mayo commemorates May 5, 1862, the day a 4,500-member Mexican militia defeated the French Army in Puebla, Mexico, to halt France’s takeover of the Mexican Empire.
Festivities include face painting, pi卤atas, Twister and soccer, accompanied by Latin and popular music.
The celebration features a Mexican buffet with chicken quesadillas, cheese quesadillas, rice, churros and soda. Cost of the buffet is $5.
