The Richard Bernstein Makerspace is equipped with a wide range of cutting-edge machines designed to bring your creative projects to life. Whether you're into 3D printing, laser cutting, vinyl design, or CNC machining, we have the tools you need to prototype, fabricate, and experiment.

Our Makerspace is continually evolving, with new tools and equipment being added to meet the needs of our community. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced maker, we encourage you to explore, experiment, and create.

3D Printing & Fabrication
- Ultimaker S5 – A dual-extrusion 3D printer capable of high-resolution prints in PLA, ABS, and specialty materials.
- MakerBot Method X – An industrial-grade 3D printer optimized for ABS and soluble support materials, allowing for strong, precise prints.
- LulzBot TAZ 6 – A versatile 3D printer ideal for open-source material experimentation and larger print projects.
- Formlabs Form 4L – A large-format SLA (stereolithography) 3D printer designed for high-speed, high-precision resin printing.
Laser Cutting & Engraving
- Dremel LC40 Laser Cutter – A user-friendly laser engraver and cutter, perfect for engraving wood, acrylic, and certain metals.
- Universal Laser Systems Cutter – A high-power CO₂ laser cutter capable of detailed engraving and precision cutting on a variety of materials.
Vinyl Cutting & Printing
- Roland BN20A – A professional-grade printer and cutter for high-quality vinyl decals, stickers, and heat transfer graphics.
- Roland GS24 Vinyl Cutter – A versatile machine for cutting vinyl sheets, stencils, and signage with precision.
CNC Machining
- FabBot CNC Router – A professional grade CNC Router that delivers precise automated cutting for various materials including wood, plastic, and soft metals.
Scanning & Digital Design
- Amtek 3D Scanner – A precision scanner designed to capture 3D objects for digital modeling and replication.

UMES Cooperative Alliance
- Levil LMV-400 – A professional grade CNC Milling machine with three-axis travel of 16.5” x 8.5” x 7.5”.
- Formech 450 DT – A vacuum forming machine with a 430 x 280 mm forming area with a maximum draw depth of 160 mm.
- Roland TrueVIS LG-640 – A versatile UV printer/cutter designed for sign-making, vehicle graphics, and promotional materials, including product packaging up to 64” wide.
